Today, on this Memorial Day 2012, let us reflect upon those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our beloved homeland. God bless our military, and God Bless the United States of America.
George Washington’s Prayer for the United States
Almighty God, we make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in thy holy protection, that Thou wilt incline the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to government and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow citizens of the United States at large.
And finally that Thou will most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy nation.
Grant our supplications, we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

“The Band of Pride Tribute” concert led by Dr .Kenneth Dye, musical director of The University of Notre Dame took place from 7:30am-9am on Thursday, November 10th at Duffy Square in the heart of New York City’s Times Square, as a way to jump start the day of remembrance and patriotism. The concert also included musical guest appearances by national saxophone recording artist, Shelby Brown, who opened the program with a solo of The National Anthem. The 319th Statue of Liberty Army Band and Bruce Silva, a trumpet player (Ret.), and the US Army Field Jazz Band also performed.
Members of the New York community including, FDNY Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano, MOVA Commissioner Terrence C. Holliday, Deputy Commissioner to The Mayor of New York, Ronald Cohen, Lee Ielpi, FDNY ( Ret.) co-founder of The Tribute Center at WTC, The Wounded Warrior Project and Eileen Daly, Gold Star Mother, were in attendance and welcomed the musicians to the great city of New York.
